The brochure to launch Terence Conran’s laminate designs is the work of Pyott Design. The booklet features ten black and white portrait shots symbolising laminate qualities such as smooth, wet, old, sexy and classic. The pictures were taken on a day’s shoot with photographer Paul Massey, using models from the Ugly Model Agency. The poses are intended to be rough and not too considered, says Martin Bacon, who art directed the project at Pyott. Conran created the laminate range, called Contrasts, for Polyrey.

Michael Banks has shot the titles for Jazz Essentials, a cable TV programme to be screened worldwide. The 30-second titles are Banks’ first work in moving film and will go out every fortnight starting tomorrow, at 8pm. The brief to the London photographer, Banks, was to capture the essence of ‘contemporary, urban jazz’.
