Twelve Stars identity takes to the waves

Twelve Stars has designed the identity for a new high-profile yacht race based in Malaysia called the Malaysia Challenge.

The Malaysian government is backing the race as an international event developed to boost tourism. The race will be sailed in April close to the shores of the island resort of Langkawi.

Malaysian prime minister YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohammad says the race “will be a great stimulant to the image of Malaysia and south-east Asia”.

Twelve Stars, based in London, is also working for the government on a wider relaunch of Malaysia as a sports and holiday destination. The Malaysia Challenge identity uses a crescent moon and the national colours.

The consultancy won the project partly due to its work on the Tour of China cycle race three years ago (DW 11 November 1994).
