BAA swamped by roster hopefuls

BAA has put back the announcement of its new graphic design “best-in-class” list of preferred suppliers because of the number of applications.

Due to be announced last March, the airports authority now expects to reveal its list of around 25 groups in August. More than 100 consultancies applied.

Most consultancies have now been selected, except those based in Scotland and the SouthWest, according to a BAA spokesman.

Bamber Forsyth, which designed this year’s annual report for BAA, is automatically on the roster. Marsteller Giant made a presentation a fortnight ago, and is yet to hear from the airports authority. Glazer, which has been working on Heathrow Express, is also yet to hear.

The roster follows the establishment of a four-strong preferred suppliers list of retail consultants to the new Terminal 5 building earlier this year. Chapman Taylor is the lead retail roster agency (DW 6 March).
