BT and AT&T are “in the process of appointing” a group to come up with a name and identity for the international business they are to form through the planned merger, according to a BT spokesman.
An AT&T spokesman says a consultancy will be sought once a chief executive is in place, probably in three months’ time.
A spokeswoman at Wolff Olins, which created the Concert brand for BT, declines to comment on whether it is involved.
The deal will take around a year to get through the regulatory procedure.
