Blast has been selected to design the visual identity of the creative arts college created by the merger of Kent Institute of Art & Design and The Surrey Institute of Art & Design University College (DW 12 May).
The consultancy was awarded the five-figure project following credentials presentations from 11 groups, then reduced to five for a formal tender process. The five consultancies are all based in London and range from ‘large and well-established’ to ‘smaller and younger’ consultancies, according to Surrey Institute marketing manager Sara Laver.
The two bodies officially merge on 1 August to form a specialist university college offering courses in art, design, architecture, media and communication. Once decided, the college’s new name must be approved by the Privy Council. Blast will begin to roll out the visual identity and related branding from August.
