Hobbs launches new interiors consultancy

KEITH HOBBS, formerly head of interiors at CD Partnership, will launch his own consultancy tomorrow (Saturday), with a team of seven designers.

The consultancy will be called Unitedesigners and will be based at London’s Butler’s Wharf. Unite- designers will specialise in leisure interiors, including hotels and restaurants.

“The consultancy will operate as a partnership – everybody involved has a financial part of the business as well,” says Hobbs. “Discussions are well underway for some interesting projects and we hope to be able to announce client names in the next week or so,” he adds.

Hobbs left CDP (founded by Sir Terence Conran) at the beginning of March. He took five designers with him – almost half of CDP’s interiors staff – stating: “CDP is run in a very autocratic manner, and we wanted to create a more democratic design group where people share work and accolades” (DW 3 March).
