For the first time the international industrial design body ICSID will hold its biennial congress in Taiwan, the world’s 14th largest trading nation. The theme for ICSID ’95 Taipei is `Design for a changing world – toward Century 21′ and will feature the ICSID design congress, the international young designers’ workshop and the Taipei international design exhibition. The symbol for the congress in September is the phoenix, chosen to reflect `both traditional culture and the spirit of modern times’, according to a spokesman.
