Samaritans change style for awareness

ESSEX consultancy QuintonWong is producing publicity literature for the Samaritans as part of the organisation’s plans to “raise public awareness and remove the barriers that may inhibit people from calling”.

The image update follows research by the nationwide charity on promoting its service, says a Samaritans spokesman. The QuintonWong-designed literature comes out in conjunction with the charity’s new advertising campaign, launched this week.

QuintonWong, which won the unpaid creative pitch against four other groups, has designed three leaflets, due out in mid-April. The consultancy will be responsible for the charity’s annual report and graphic design guidelines for all the Samaritans’ publicity material once the new literature is in circulation.

“The leaflets will be in black and white with minimal use of corporate orange,” says consultancy partner Kathryn Wong.

The publicity material will be developed from moody black and white photographs, produced by Ogilvy & Mather for the advertising campaign, Wong adds.
