Archaos bounces back into action

The return of the French alternative circus Archaos to the UK has renewed a six-year-old association for London’s Design & Art, which has designed publicity for the current Game Over tour.

Designed by Matthew Poscha, the poster continues with the previous clubby look but hints at the reinvention of Archaos as “new but not reformed”. Perhaps the bungee-jumping DJ has something to do with it.

It all brought back memories for Design & Art creative director David Hockin, who remembers taking a blowtorch and grinder to old rusty oil drums to make the previous 3D Archaos logo.

On that tour six years ago, punters got in free if they brought along an old TV or car which could be smashed up during the show. But too many old black and white portables were donated. “It became so that it had to be at least a Citro&#235n,” says Hockin.

This time round it’s a bit harder, though you could take along a few records and pretend you’re the DJ.
