Park Consul books classy Oehler look

Pentagram partner Justus Oehler has created an identity for a new London hotel called the Park Consul, part of a small German chain. Oehler has designed all graphics for the Chelsea hotel, including guest room literature, menus and signs.

“It’s very much an understated, classy and quite conservative package, to reflect the owner and the clientele,” says Oehler.

He adds: “One of the constraints of the brief was the very low budget, so we’ve only used one colour for printing, but used techniques like reversing out to create a richer feel.”

The 46-room hotel has interiors designed by Anna Ghomi Designs in London. The Park Consul is due to open this week.
