Gravelle quits retailer

Sainsbury’s corporate design manager Steven Gravelle is leaving the retail giant.

Gravelle has been responsible for packaging since 1988, when he was headhunted from Tayburn’s then London office. Latterly he has been responsible for all design, including stores and corporate identity. He officially leaves next week but is no longer at Sainsbury’s.

A Sainsbury’s spokesman declines to comment on Gravelle’s reasons for leaving or on the appointment of a successor. Gravelle is believed to be returning to his native New Zealand.
