Mayor unveils support plan for London

London Mayor Boris Johnson has announced plans to revamp the international promotion of London, as part of his Economic Recovery Action Plan for the capital.

A spokesman for the mayor’s office says Johnson was consulting business leaders about the proposals, and that more concrete plans are expected at the end of November. The announcement came as part of a package of measures unveiled by Johnson on Monday to help support Londoners through the expected economic hardships ahead.

Other measures include bringing forward large-scale infrastructure investment projects to help secure jobs, and streamlining procurement procedures to make it easier for small companies to bid for Greater London Authority group work. They will be paid more promptly when they are successful contractors.
