Martin Monks, former head of business development at The Chase, has been appointed managing director of design at advertising group Junction.
The new post signals a shift in emphasis towards design – a separate group will be launched next month under the Junction banner.
Monks says: “We are creating a new corporate identity and website which will be unveiled in October. We will also be making new appointments, though we have not yet decided how many people to take on board.”
Monks left The Chase in July after 18 months with the Manchester group. He was previously sales director at The Attik.
His new role will be to position Junction as a “major player” in the design industry. “My mission is to develop the appreciation of good design, while demonstrating its effect on a company bottom line. The broad experience base within Junction means we can offer a service that’s truly integrated – something many ‘pure’ design agencies simply can’t do.”
