Last week’s London Fashion Week is to form the basis for a multimedia design competition for UK students.

Fashion labels Red or Dead and Michiko Koshino, plus BAFTA and BBC Knowledge are calling for entries to design and build a spring/summer 2000 website for the fashion houses.

Three winners will be selected by a celebrity panel including Red or Dead chairman Wayne Hemingway.

Winning designs will eventually feature on the official sites of the fashion designers and at a BAFTA Interactive event.

“This competition gives students around the country a chance to gain real life experience of the fastest growing media which currently faces a real skills shortage,” says BBC Knowledge programme executive Nick Ware.

Entrants have until 8 October to register via the www.bbc.co.uk website. The competition’s winning entries will be announced on 19 November.
