What makes your day?

Adobe unveiled the winners of its tenth annual student prize Adobe Design Achievement Awards this week, with a UK student, Napatsawan Chirayukool, topping the animation category.

A still from Napatsawan Chirayukool’s film What Makes Your Day?

Chirayukool, from Kingston University, won with her two minute-long film called What Makes Your Day? The short captures snippets of interviews with people about the everyday things that make them smile, from watching loved ones wake up to planting trees.

Chirayukool’s charming hand-drawn animation style perfectly fits the upbeat nature of the heart-warming interviews. A yellow bunny admits that the thing that makes his day is snuggling up to his girlfriend, depicted as a feminine-looking carrot, and talking clouds express their love for Sugarpuffs before raining the sweet cereal on the ground below.

Chirayukool will be awarded $3 000 (£18 890) and a bundle of Adobe programs for her hard work. To check out the other winners click here and watch Chirayukool’s animation below. I hope it makes your day.

i really liked the animation. I especially liked the original sourced voices which made it that ever more unique. It kind of put a smile to my face as well as i watched it. I think that was the voices and the colours nice and bright 😀
