A photographic overview of London in 1999 through the eyes of 40 members of London Independent Photography is represented at Countdown 2000 until 10 September. The 365 images were all taken within the M25 and aim to capture the spirit of the capital.

A comprehensive photographic survey of the history of modern music shows at the National Portrait Gallery touring exhibition Icons of Pop until 4 November.

Photography of museums, temples and ruins by Richard Ross will show at Gathering Light from 5 September until 21 October. The exhibition is accompanied by a book featuring essays by Dave Hickey and Eduardo Cadava.
