Partners to retouch National Lottery logo

The Partners, a member of Richard Branson’s People’s Lottery Consortium, is to refresh the National Lottery logo if the consortium is awarded the Lottery contract at the end of August.

Last week, The People’s Lottery fought off competition from Camelot to take over the National Lottery, but was told by the National Lottery Commission to address certain elements of its bid before being awarded full control.

If successful, Branson’s group will relaunch the Lottery in October 2001. The Partners design partner Gillian Thomas says: “The plan is to retain the existing logo, building on its high profile.”

The London consultancy is one of three groups that make up a marketing task force with the aim of attracting more people to play the Lottery. The other two companies are J Walter Thompson and Triangle Communications.
