Audi design initiative on track in South Africa

The Audi Design Foundation has confirmed that next year’s Designs of Substance initiative will take place in South Africa, in collaboration with an additional five universities.

Mike Dennis, acting development manager for the charity, says that the scheme will return ‘bigger and better’ with the details still being finalised. ‘We will be working with more universities and considering ways in which to take the product forward in general,’ he says.

The confirmation comes amid continuing industry concern over the future of the Audi Design Foundation and its associated projects. ‘We are here for the foreseeable future and our focus is becoming clearer,’ states Dennis.

Dennis joined the Audi Design Foundation in July and is covering for Rebecca Edge while she is on maternity leave.

Dennis was formerly process improvement manager at VW Group Services.
