Tony Blair’s reception for designers at Downing Street last week seems to have been a great success.

Not least for Wolff Olins chairman Brian Boylan, apparently a staunch Labour supporter who has been in regular contact with the powers that be for a while. Pleasing, then, to see an idea raised by Wolff Olins on the Money Programme being taken up by our leader.

For Tony has asked the movers and shakers to brainstorm on New Britain, a theme Wolff Olins made its own through some intentionally provocative TV, (remember Ginger Spice wrapped in a brightly coloured tea towel featuring the nation’s new logo?). Perhaps Wolff Olins really will get a chance to rebrand the country.
