BT is still in the throes of putting a third design roster together, having compiled line-ups for product and design for print.
A shortlist of about 25 multimedia and on-screen groups has been compiled after an initial trawl of 100, says BT head of design David Mercer. “We have taken the trawl as far as we possibly could,” he adds. The eventual roster will to be 10- or 12-strong and should be in place in September or October, says Mercer.
Mahony & Associates has successfully passed the first round. Meanwhile, Design House is working on an on-screen identity for BT and Tutssels is believed to be working on multimedia projects.
BT started reviewing its rosters last year (DW 8 November 1996).
The product design line-up, formed before the summer, is understood to comprise Fitch, Random Product Design and PSD Associates.
The design for print roster features low level and high level creatives, says Mercer. Consultancies believed to be on the print roster include Wolff Olins, Trickett & Webb and Harlequin. Johnson Banks, Coley Porter Bell, Design House and Stocks Austin Sice are also in the line-up.
