Sainsbury’s Bank could bring in design work

The new telephone banking service Sainsbury’s Bank may bring in a design group to work on its corporate identity once it gets the go ahead, says a spokeswoman for the retailing giant.

Initial work on the bank’s marque has been carried out in-house. A consultancy is yet to be appointed to design literature and other promotional material targeting the supermarket chain’s 12 million customers.

The joint venture, between Sainsbury and the Bank of Scotland, expects to get approval in the next few weeks and will then aim to start trading next year.

Tesco says it has no plans to follow suit with a rival bank.
