The touching truth behind former Judge Gill partner David Judge’s brief sojourn in London can now be revealed.

David, who came down from Manchester last year to join RSCG Conran Design’s studio as project director, arrived complete with a hard-drinking, fast-talking, mad-dancing northern lad image.

He proceeded to liven up the RSCG design studio no end, instilling a deep love of house music in one and all, and lived his loveable rogue life at full pelt.

But it was not to be. Not only did he miss Manchester, he didn’t like London and was fed up with the M1. Or those were the reasons he gave for moving back to greater (with a small g) Manchester. But the real reason was love. Beneath it all, hopeless romantic David was missing his girlfriend Lynne too much. What a sweetie!

One of Judge’s first jobs in Manchester is to design a new flat for Eastern Bloc Records star DJ Mike E-Bloc. The flat above it is being designed by Ben Kelly for Factory Records man on the Manchester music scene Tony Wilson.

Soundproofing may well figure in the design and a marvellous “whose flat is best?” investigation is pending.
