Leeds group soaks up jobs

State of the Art is to nveil two new corporate identities for Yorkshire companies. The Leeds group won a three-way unpaid creative pitch last year to design Shires Bathrooms’ new look, to be launched in June. This includes a complete redesign of its flagship publication The Bathroom Book.

“Our budget was some 40 000 for this, and implementation will cost far more,” says State of the Art founder and partner Louise Harrison, a former account director at Leeds group Elmwood.

Borden Decorative Products, the group’s second client, initially approached Elmwood for design work, but “we proved more cost effective”, says Harrison.

State of the Art has designed new identities for Borden brands Crown Wallcoverings and Shand Kydd wallcoverings.
