Six buildings have been shortlisted for the Stirling Prize this October. Favourites are: the Jubilee Library in Brighton by Bennetts Associates, with Lomax Cassidy and Edwards, and the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking by Foster and Partners. The other nominations are: Zaha Hadid’s BMW Central Building in Leipzig; Fawood Children’s Centre in Harlesden by Alsop Design; the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh by EMBT/RMJM; and the Lewis Gluckman Gallery at University College, Cork by O’Donnell and Tuomey.
The redesign aims to attract “new, younger and more culturally diverse audiences” to the 118-year-old magazine, while avoiding confusion with The Times newspaper.
