Refined design for Shell Centre

Shell is planning to revamp the interiors at the Shell Centre complex on London’s South Bank, the oil giant confirmed this week.

A pitch involving up to four design groups is understood to have taken place on Friday, though a Shell spokesman plays down the selection process, saying that ‘exploratory talks’ are in their ‘early stages’. The high-profile restaurant designer David Collins is among those approached, he says.

‘We have approached a small number of designers for conceptual ideas about internal renovation at the Shell Centre,’ he says.

The project will address the ground floor of the centre to make it more accessible to the public. This is likely to include leisure and retail developments.
