New Glasgow restaurant 78 St Vincent takes its name from its address on St Vincent Street. The Phoenix Assurance listed building dates from 1914 and has been transformed by the city’s CM Design Consultants from its previous use as an outpost of the doomed BCCI bank. CM director Mark Brunjes says: ‘What makes the interior unique is the scale of the large open space, which is unusual to find in the city centre.’ As well as employing restoration work to such features as the large bronze-framed windows, the design introduces the metalwork of sculptor Andrew Scott and a 15m-long wall mural by artist Donald McLeod.
