London toasts East European bar/restaurant

Salt beef, blinis and vodka will be on offer at the City of London’s first eastern European bar and restaurant opening this later month.

Bier Klinik, owned by eight-strong chain Futurestar, will sport interiors, graphics and identity by Design Solution.

The 170m2 basement site features a long bar, seating and standing space. “We have achieved a simple and functional interior that was prevalent in Communist Europe through the use of readily available industrial-style finishes,” says Design Solution associate Sophie Douglas.

The consultancy is also designing a second London bar for Futurestar which will trade under its existing Jamies format.
