A charity reaping the reward of businesslike design strategy

I am writing to support Charlotte Desorgher’s letter (DW 29 May). We are a small design agency, and we have recently created a website for a new charity to help it raise awareness and promote fundraising opportunities. The charity was very well aware of the benefit of good design and had seen a number of agencies before selecting us. Our prices were competitive and fairly reflected the level of our commitment.

The charity’s professional approach to its design needs has paid dividends: over 4000 people worldwide visited the site in the first six weeks and already new fundraising possibilities have been created.

In order for charities to operate effectively, they must employ the same business strategies as other organisations.
