The Federation of Small Business is worried about some small businesses. A survey it recently commissioned concludes that many small businesses believe the single currency will have a damaging effect on business and are unprepared for its introduction. A third believe joining a single currency will have a negative effect on them and less than one in five have seriously considered preparing for the introduction of the euro. Just one fifth of the 4000 respondents believe the single currency will have a positive effect on their business.
