Browns creates open door Theatre Resource identity

Browns has designed an identity for Theatre Resource, an arts organisation specialising in disability-related activities based in Chipping Ongar, Essex.

The group was appointed in December after a four-way pitch against NB Studio, Why Not Associates and an undisclosed group. Its work, launching next month, includes stationery, posters, a website, www.theatre-resource.org.uk, and a regular news bulletin.

According to Browns creative director Nick Jones, the group was briefed to create a ‘visually striking marque that promotes the idea that everyone is welcome’.

‘Theatre Resource is a haven for socially and physically disadvantaged people, who can go there and express themselves,’ he adds. ‘The T in the marque represents the organisation as a physical entity and the doorway is the entry point.’

All work has been designed using Royal National Institute for the Blind and W3C on-line legibility guidelines, adds Jones. A colour palette of vibrant colours reflects the diversity of the organisation and also helps with legibility.

Theatre Resource provides participatory arts activities for disadvantaged people of all ages.
