A Labour government would consider tax breaks to increase investment in design, according to Labour MP and co-chair of the All Party Group on Design Mark Fisher.

Fisher’s comments come in an interview in the new Design magazine, relaunched by the Design Council this week and targeted at 15 000 ‘influential decision-makers’ who buy design.

New M&S literature

Direct marketing company WWAV Rapp Collins is designing the literature for Marks & Spencer’s new life and pensions company, launched on 10 May.

Marks & Spencer Life Assurance will initially be sold to customers by direct mail with brochures available at point-of-sale in stores, says a company spokeswoman.

BDG/McColl for Sears

Selina Fellows, former English Heritage head of trading for sales outlets, is the new managing director at Sebastian Conran Product Identity Design.

Fellows – who commissioned the consultancy to design posters while she was at English Heritage – is responsible for day-to-day management of the 15-strong team.
