Exhibition Plus keeps up the castle traditions

Conisbrough Castle near Doncaster has opened The Keep Experience, a new theatrical attraction designed by Exhibition Plus in conjunction with English Heritage.

Three-dimensional stage sets for the 20-minute audio-visual “play” create a different scene on each of the keep’s three floors.

“The sets are dark grey and designed as a pastiche of the original structure,” says Exhibition Plus creative director Mark Magidson.

On the first floor visitors are invited to sit at a giant banqueting table and join in talks on whether to fight or surrender to a besieging army.

The sets are are in keeping with the mid 14th century and are “historically faithful”, adds Magidson.
