Pepe Jeans is to open a pilot factory store with an interiors concept by Leicester consultancy Ratcliffe Fowler Design.

The 186m2 pilot, which opens at the Bicester village complex in Oxfordshire next week, features a “9m fin of patchwork metal to promote the Pepe brand”, says Ratcliffe Fowler partner Mike Ratcliffe.

“Pepe wanted to retain a strong Pepe look for the factory outlet, but they also wanted it to be distinct from the store-within-store concept,” he adds.

The consultancy won the job after designing an exhibition stand for the company for last month’s Premier Menswear show.

Pepe is considering more sites and plans to open further factory retail stores throughout the UK.
