Selfridges lifts off at Heathrow

Selfridges is opening a store at Heathrow Airport, with interiors by John Herbert Partnership as part of the retailer’s 60m masterplan to strengthen the brand.

The 340m2 tax-free shop in the Terminal One departure lounge is due to open in September. The store will be monitored and “depending on its success the concept may be rolled out”, says a Selfridges spokeswoman.

The store will be designed “to reflect the profile of Selfridges in Oxford Street”, says Steve Collis, project director at John Herbert Partnership, which is also working on the refurbishment of the flagship store in Oxford Street.

As part of the masterplan, Selfridges is unveiling an own-label brand, Selfridges Signature, with logo and packaging by its in-house design team.
