International Web consultancy Icon Medialab has appointed MetaDesign London managing director Robin Richmond as managing director of its London office, following the merger of the two groups in December (DW 7 January 2000).
The restructure will see Richmond continue his long-term business partnership with Tim Fendley, who has also been promoted as Icon International’s head of brand and marketing.
Icon Medialab founder and acting UK managing director Erik Wickstrom is returning to his previous role at the group’s international strategic level.
The two MetaDesign London founders will remain in their current premises until offices and a new name for the merged group are found. Richmond will be responsible for helping drive the consultancy’s strategy in the UK, identifying growth opportunities and developing its European leadership position in the e-business marketplace.
Both appointments will also strengthen the existing ties between Icon and MetaDesign London, which are already working together on several projects.
