Broadcast design specialist Static 2358 is expanding its services base in a new strategic alliance with advertising group Saatchi & Saatchi.

Broadcast design specialist Static 2358 is expanding its services base in a new strategic alliance with advertising group Saatchi & Saatchi.

The advertising agency is harnessing Static’s expertise in the digital TV arena to strengthen its interactive TV advertising output, a key growth area for its clients.

Jasper Smith, Static chief executive officer, says he is confident about the partnership as the two companies have complementary expertise and have worked together before.

Carlo Rombolo, interactive TV strategist at Saatchi and Saatchi, says he was impressed with Static’s previous TV channel branding work with ON Digital, Film Four and Cartoon Network, among other projects.

“We were seeking a design consultancy with a TV background and Static is one of the biggest broadcast specialists in the UK,” he says, particularly praising Static’s high production values.

The move is another diversification for screen branding specialist Static, which last month launched PlayJam, a games channel for digital TV and the Internet created with BSkyB.

The broadcaster also purchased a 10 per cent stake in the group at the start of this year.
