Don McCullin: Sleeping With Ghosts is the first major retrospective of this photojournalist whose career includes spells on the Observer and The Sunday Times. The display traces McCullin’s career from 1959-1997, featuring over 250 prints from around the world. Also on display are his landscape and still life works. From 11 September until 14 December.

Or how about visiting Concord Sylvania to see Edward Barber: Flower Portraits? Barber, renowned for his portrait photography, turned to producing vivid flower images in the early Nineties. Until 19 September.

At the National Galleries of Scotland is Women in White: Photographs by Lady Hawarden. The exhibition focuses on Clementina Maude (Lady Hawarden), one of the few women photographers of the Victorian era. The show is one of the highlights of Fotofeis 97 international festival of photography . Until 16 November.
