I was very saddened to hear that Lynn Trickett and Brian Webb are closing their doors.

But I was even more saddened and rather taken aback by Aziz Cami’s insensitive comment in the Vox Pop column (DW 21 August), suggesting that they should not have called themselves Trickett & Webb in the first place if they had really wanted to survive.

I think 32 years in our business is amazing. Over that period they have consistently produced some wonderful work and all very routed in their own ‘personal’ passions.

So it was absolutely right that the company bore their names and Trickett & Webb should be applauded for what they have achieved over the past three decades plus.

There are very few independent design consultancies that have had such a distinguished innings.
