Airport retailer gets Corsie Naysmith look

Corsie Naysmith has designed the Travel Value retail outlet in Manchester Airport, which opened for business last Friday. The consultancy was appointed without a pitch by parent company Alpha Retail.

The £1.7m store, in Manchester’s Nicholas Grimshaw-designed Terminal One, will sell a mix of duty paid goods and duty free, which is still available to non-EU travellers. Intra-European duty free was abolished in 1999.

The retail space is designed to allow free movement of customers to and from the airport lounge and its departure gates. It also has to ensure flight information is accessible at all times to passengers as they shop.
