BT vehicle livery plan waits for green light

BT is considering a redesign of its vehicle liveries as part of its ongoing identity development, and has scheduled a review of its multimedia consultancy roster for the autumn.

“The [livery] situation is under review,” says BT design head David Mercer. “If and when we decide to go ahead with it we will make an announcement.”

BT lead consultancy Enterprise IG is likely to head up such a project following its appointment last year to refresh the look and feel of the BT identity (DW 9 October 1998). Enterprise IG replaced Wolff Olins.

Mercer also confirms that a review of BT’s multimedia roster is scheduled for November. The existing roster was drawn up for the first time in February 1998. It is BT policy to review its rosters every two years.

Any BT review of multimedia is expected to be substantial because of the telecom giant’s increasing moves into digital communications.
