DW tournament serves up smashing time

A standing ovation was given to Catherine Whittey of Fishburn Hedges, winner of the Design Week Tennis Championship last week. Nick Ind of Ind Associates and LFH’s Mark Lloyd took second and third place respectively.

The tournament raised more than £1000 for the Sugarmane Memorial Fund, set up by Pearlfisher’s Jonathan Ford and Karen Welman.

It was a hard-fought contest all round, with a fair quota of blood, sweat and tears – and that was just the crowd. Many thanks to all 26 players and the spectators for their support. And thanks also to Pepsi, R Whites, Schloer and Llanllyr Source Water for providing the much-needed refreshments.
