One stop shop for Going Places

Going Places is launching a chain of one-stop travel agents called Holiday World, featuring an in-store format created by Design House.

The first store opens in Monks Cross shopping centre, York, next week prior to a planned national roll out. It features a number of in-store extensions to the traditional travel agency concept, such as a Costa Coffee branch, a bureau de change and travel products.

Holiday World interiors will be divided into themed areas, including a cruise section designed as a ship, an aircraft seat and a games area. Design House declined to comment on its involvement in the initiative.

Last month Going Places’ rival Thomas Cook opened a large format travel store designed by BDG McColl.
