Professor of identity appointed

Bradford University has appointed John Balmer as its first professor of corporate identity at Bradford Management Centre.

Professor Balmer, who was the founding director of the International Centre for Corporate Identity Studies at the University of Strathclyde marketing department, takes up the chair this week. He has also been a special adviser to BBC Scotland’s senior management on the positioning of its corporate brand.

‘I am thrilled to have been appointed to the chair in corporate identity, which I believe to be the first appointment of its kind anywhere in the world,’ says Balmer.
