Alan Fletcher and Julia Alldridge are creating the identity for Design Prima, the successor to the Spectrum exhibition that will launch in April 2005.
Designs will be unveiled within a ‘few weeks’ time’ and will encapsulate the forthcoming event’s remit, according to Design Prima chairman and managing director David Field.
‘The accent will be on launches, and it will be more cost effective. Stands will be smaller, and there will be a more minimal approach,’ he explains.
Design Prima will also be shorter – though with longer opening hours – and more selective in its choice of exhibitors. ‘Quality rather than quantity is the key here,’ says Field.
Successful elements of the Spectrum exhibition, such as the annual lecture, are likely to continue, he adds.
Design Prima is scheduled to launch with up to 100 exhibitors at London’s Old Billingsgate Market on 26 April 2005.
Field, marketing director Paul Hemsley, finance director Mike Drinkwater and site manager Nick Hardy are organising the event.
