Newenglish graphic lexicon at Your Libraries

Newenglish has overhauled the look and feel of Staffordshire Libraries, introducing the Your Library identity to the council’s 43 sites. The group’s rebranding work includes signage, interiors, staff clothing and printed material, as well as an advertising campaign.

Staffordshire County Council initially considered 11 consultancies for the contract, before short-listing three groups. Newenglish, which has previously worked on Birmingham Library Services branding, was chosen from this unpaid strategy pitch to promote the libraries to the public.

‘[The execution] went beyond design to enable staff to create posters and write book and CD reviews with [pre-prepared] templates. We really put our hearts into the project,’ says Newenglish creative director Wendy Draper.

Draper also advised on the refurbishment of four of the council’s major libraries, which now feature cafés and sofas.
