Studio Output hires Dave McDougal to head up digital arm

Studio Output is continuing its digital expansion, naming Dave McDougal as head of digital, six weeks after appointing creative director Tom Muller (DW 10 June).

Both roles are new, but McDougal (pictured), who joins in September, will ’develop our digital arm and our internal strategy’, says art director and partner Ian Hambleton. Muller’s role is to ensure that all work is of studio standard.

’Digital is an area that you can’t pretend to know about,’ says Hambleton, who explains that new senior staff will work across all accounts.
Although Hambleton aims to grow the digital arm gradually, he says he expects to make ’six to eight appointments over the next couple of years’.

McDougal joins from digital consultancy ID Media, where he was creative director, and will initially work with existing clients including HMV and Sony Playstation.
