Hotel sites to be developed

Burford Holdings’ hotel subsidiary has shortlisted three interiors consultancies to develop four newly acquired central London sites for hotels.

Burford Covent Garden has bought buildings in Berners Street, Trafalgar Square, St Martin’s Lane and Upper St Martin’s Lane. The buildings may be pulled down, says Michael Pemberton, who is jointly leading the project. RPW has been appointed as architect for the whole project.

Pemberton is currently in discussion with unnamed consultancies from the UK, Europe and the US, and will appoint one or more groups to renovate the four buildings in January. The company is also bidding for two more hotel sites.
