BT Retail is opening a second chain of retail shops aimed at the consumer with input from 20/20, Design House and Asylum.
The pilot shop is due to open on 7 April and will set out to rival stores such as Carphone Warehouse and Dixons’ 100-strong chain of outlets, named The Link.
Around ten stores are initially planned, with 20/20 handling interiors and Design House developing the format’s branding. A BT spokeswoman confirms 20/20’s involvement. In the long term BT’s existing shops may be rebranded under the new format, depending on the success of the pilot stores. “We will see how it goes,” says the spokeswoman.
BT launched IT Works retail concept before Christmas, with design by Cobalt (DW 12 December 1997).
