Olympic mascots from Landor

Merchandising for the Winter Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan, is driven by four bird-like mascots. The Snowlets were created by Landor Associates and have been named by Japanese schoolchildren through a public competition. They are known as Sukki, Lekki Tsukki and Nokki – names which are easy to pronounce.

Landors’ Japan office handled the entire design and branding for the games. This included the identities for the Olympics and Paralympics, print collateral, signage, merchandising, 14 pictograms and ticketing.

Athletes from 84 countries will be taking part in the games which start on Saturday.
