Wales to reuse logo for corporate identity
The Wales Tourist Board is considering using an adapted version of its new marketing identity, created by Springpoint (DW 23 January), as its corporate identity as well.
Cardiff consultancy VWD Design Associates has been appointed to develop the Springpoint work for the second application, says Wales Tourist Board director of communications Jonathan Jones.
Traditionally the board has maintained two separate identities, with the marketing identity being updated every two to three years to suit promotional campaigns. “With this one we felt we could update the corporate identity too, and get a longer life from it,” says Jones.
VWD Design was previously PTP Design, the design arm of architect Percy Thomas Partnership. PTP was the subject of a management buyout in 1992. It changed its name to VWD, the initials of managing director Vyvyan Wayne Davies, this week.
